Bring the whole picture

Write down food amounts, medications, supplements and any changes you have noticed. Bring recent weight measurements and videos of movement or unusual behavior. Ask the clinic about bringing a urine or stool sample beforehand.

Questions worth making room for

Is their weight healthy? Could they be in pain? What bloodwork, urine tests or blood-pressure checks would help? Are their teeth comfortable? Do their medications still fit their needs? Ask which changes mean you should call sooner.

Leave with a plan you understand

Ask for written medication instructions and the date of the next checkup. If a recommendation is unclear or difficult to afford, say so. Your vet can help you decide what matters most right now.
