Notice mouth changes

Bad breath, drooling, dropping food or chewing on one side can signal discomfort. Pets may keep eating despite dental pain.

Arrange a dental conversation

Ask your vet about an oral examination and whether professional dental treatment is needed. Home care cannot remove disease beneath the gumline.

Keep home care kind

If your vet approves, introduce a pet toothbrush and pet toothpaste gradually. Do not force brushing a painful mouth or use human toothpaste.

For your dog

Choose dental products sized for your dog and approved by your vet. Avoid bones and very hard chews that can break teeth.
