Look beyond the senior label

Ask your vet whether the current complete and balanced food fits their health, weight and life stage. Age alone does not mean a prescription diet is needed.

Make eating easier

Offer a quiet feeding place and accessible bowls. Record the food, portion and treats they actually eat. Change foods gradually following your vet’s advice.

Keep fresh water nearby

Clean bowls daily and offer fresh water in easy-to-reach places. Never limit drinking water without veterinary direction.

For your cat

Cats need a cat-specific diet. A cat who stops eating needs prompt veterinary advice; do not wait several days.
